Expertise:

Patrick is a partner in the firm's Private Client Department and advises on a range of issues including lifetime tax planning and will drafting, probate and estate administration, trust administration, powers of attorney including Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.

Patrick is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and advises a range of clients including high net worth individuals and family businesses. He regularly deals with complex estate administration, including for example "double trust" schemes, issues concerning the deceased's domicile, agricultural and business property relief and post death tax planning.

Patrick works with colleagues in the firm's Commercial Litigation department in relation to contentious probate matters and trust disputes.

Patrick has an interest in charity law and is a member of the Charity Law Association. He has advised on the formation of charities and their registration, the interpretation of trust deeds and other related issues.

Career

Patrick gained a degree in Theology from Bristol University before converting to law and studying at the College of Law in London. He trained with Witham Weld and then worked for Gregory Rowcliffe Milners, both in London, before moving to Taylor Walton in September 2002. He became a partner in July 2009.

Leisure:

Patrick has a young family but in his limited spare time he enjoys reading, particularly history and biographies and is a keen football fan.
