Will it take years for the divorce to go through?
It could take as little as 4 months.
If it is not my fault that we are separating, why should I give my husband/ wife anything?
The reason for separating rarely affects the division of the assets.
Will I will lose my interest in the house if I leave?
The house will be taken into account when dividing the assets, whoever lives there.
Can he/she touch my pension if she/ he has never paid anything towards it?
Pension funds can be divided into two distinct policies (pension sharing or "splitting") or part of the pension can be paid to the other party when the pension holder retires (pension attachment or "earmarking").
I cannot afford a lawyer.

Does the mother always get custody of the children?
